Q:  What's the difference between the card number and the license number?
The card number is updated each time a license is renewed.  Including the card number in the verification criteria ensures the most recent version of that document is being checked.

Q: Why is this change happening?

DVS is introducing this change to reduce the risk of identity theft from lost or stolen cards.

Q:  How will Scantek verification be impacted?
To meet the new DVS requirements Scantek is updating the ID capture process for cards for licenses issued in the affected states and territories.  The capture process will be automated in phases, starting with NSW and ACT Drivers Licenses.  Our system will submit the card number to DVS together with the existing data that is captured as part of the normal process.

Q:  What do VOI subjects need to do?
Subjects simply need to follow the prompts that are displayed based on the card type they present for capturing. Our system will automatically recognise the card type and guide subjects through the process.  If the subject presents a Drivers License the card number will be a mandatory field in order to proceed.  Our system has been designed to make this process as simple as possible.

Q:  What do Management Portal users need to do?
Nothing.  Management portal users will be able to see the card number entered by the subject on the Transaction Details page along with the other card details.  If the Issuing Authority results are being assessed this information may be included in a review of the data submitted.
