About our secure login process

When you scan IDs you are collecting sensitive personal information that must be kept as secure as possible. MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) is a security measure that reduces the risk of unauthorised access to our Venue Entry Solution.

What is MFA?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a method of logging into a system that requires you to prove yourself in two or more ways before you can get in.  For the Scantek Venue Entry product you will log in with your password plus a random code that is sent to you separately.

This approach is far more secure than just a password because, even if your password is stolen or compromised, the criminal would also need to get hold of the second verification method to access our system.

Do I need it?

Individuals, small business and large organisations are all at risk of a data breach.  Having an extra step can be inconvenient at first, but remember that taking shortcuts leaves your system more vulnerable.

You are better off spending a few seconds entering a one-time code now, to avoid spending hours later on dealing with the consequences of your data being stolen.

Do I have to enter a MFA code every time I log in?

No. As standard, a MFA code is required each time you log in. To extend the frequency at which you need to provide a MFA code, select Remember me on the login screen. This will extend the frequency to 30 days.

After 30-days you will be required to enter a MFA code. The code will be sent to the email you are using to log into the Venue Entry Solution. If you do not have access to the email address, please contact the Venue manager to obtain the MFA code.
